Fresh Beginnings

Be still in the secret place.

Let me infill you with my grace.

Let me meet your needs in this space.

I am the one who gives you strength.

In me, you’ll find that place of rest, joy, peace, and strength.

In seasons, plants will die.

A plant sprung up from a root will have new beginnings.

Know when I am letting something die and giving you a new beginning.

Your fruit will die and go to seed.

You may not see the planting of your seeds spring up right away,

but they have to go through a season of dying first.

Then I will water my word upon it.

It will spring up into a new tree, developing roots in me.

It is a mystery how the roots sink into me.

But in the spirit, so it is in the natural.

I created everything in the natural from the spirit.

I am he who spoke it.

I am he who made it.

I am he who gave life to it.

You must shed the old leaves on your tree.

It’s time for the wind of the spirit to blow the past away.

You rooted yourself deeper in me.

You see, drought causes your roots to dig deeper.

Resistance of rocks in the soil causes your roots to multiply and develop a stronger grip in me.

Finding deeper sources of life.

The water that satisfies your thirst from the deep inner parts of your being.

Deep calls to deep. Will you answer my deep calling?

New trees have shallow roots. Mature trees have developed deep roots.

I bring you through the death of old things.

A new beginning.

I walked you through the pain of letting go and looking to me.

New life, Fresh air, Songs of joy.

Birds are singing, Rain is falling, My love poured out on thee.

1As the deer pants for streams of water,

so my soul longs after You, O God.

2My soul thirsts for God, the living God.

When shall I come and appear in God’s presence?b

3My tears have been my food

both day and night,

while men ask me all day long,

“Where is your God?”

4These things come to mind as I pour out my soul:

how I walked with the multitude,

leading the procession to the house of God

with shouts of joy and praise.

5Why are you downcast, O my soul?

Why the unease within me?

Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him

for the salvation of His presence.

6O my God, my soul despairs within me.

Therefore I remember You

from the land of Jordan and the peaks of Hermon—

even from Mount Mizar.

7Deep calls to deep

in the roar of Your waterfalls;

all Your breakers and waves

have rolled over me.

8The LORD decrees His loving devotion by day,

and at night His song is with me

as a prayer to the God of my life.

9I say to God my Rock,

“Why have You forgotten me?

Why must I walk in sorrow

because of the enemy’s oppression?”

10Like the crushing of my bones,

my enemies taunt me,

while they say to me all day long,

“Where is your God?”

11Why are you downcast, O my soul?

Why the unease within me?

Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him,

my Savior and my God.

Psalms 42

Worship is not always about a song. More than a song, I want you to speak out your heart to me.
Don’t fear what Satan can do. He already knows enough about you. He’s more afraid of you speaking to me,
communing with me. Pour out your love onto me, my beloved, and let me receive your praise, your heart; this is the highest form of praise. Sometimes, the problem with worship songs
is that people get into singing on autopilot, someone else’s heartfelt cry to me.
If you sing with your heart and the song resonates with you, I do not discount that, but worship music is often a crutch instead of walking for yourself. I don’t need a beautiful voice. I do not need the words of a poet. I want you to pour your heart onto me. Pour it out, pour it out, let me be your everything again.
