Salvation

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.”

John 3:16-17

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 6:23

No one is perfect, and eventually, we all sin at some point. Sin leads to death. When we pass away, our bodies die, but our souls live forever. Because sin leads to death, it separates us from God and condemns us to eternal judgment and torment. But the good news is God made a way to restore our relationship with him and made restitution for our sins to save us from eternal judgment so we can live in Heaven with him.

The Son of God, Jesus, came to earth and lived in a body as we do. He lived perfectly and laid down his life by his own will. He willingly died on the cross and took everyone’s sins upon his body. The Father judged everyone’s sins upon Jesus so that whoever believed in him would be saved. Because Jesus lived perfectly, he could take our place for the judgment of our sins. Jesus paid the price so that we could be free and have eternal life with God in heaven. Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, we are made righteous through faith in Jesus and what he did for us.

Even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

Matthew 20:28

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. 26 It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

Romans 3:23-26

Jesus died for all. He took everyone’s sins upon himself through suffering and dying on the cross. Because of him, we can have right standing with God and can go to Heaven when we die.

He made our part easy. He did the hard part.

But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,”that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: that if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved.”

Romans 10:8-9

25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” 27 “Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”

John 11:25-27

Jesus sacrificed it all and laid down his life for us because he loves us and wanted to save us from the destruction of sin. He stood in our place, and paid the price so we could be with him in heaven forever.

But he gives us a choice if we want to spend eternity in heaven with him or deny Him.

Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

John 3:18

Today is the day to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Don’t wait a minute longer; we do not know what tomorrow will bring. Pray this prayer.

Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. I believe you died on the cross for my sins and were raised to life again. You came in the form of a man and walked a sinless life so you could lay down your life as the ultimate sacrifice for all of mankind’s sins. Thank you for dying for me and taking my place for the punishment of my sins. I ask you to be my Lord and Savior. I ask you to forgive me for all my sins. I ask you to set me free and heal me. I ask you to reveal yourself to me and help me understand your great love for me.

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.

1 Peter 1:3-4

If you have prayed to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, I want to encourage you to start reading the Bible, which is his written word to us. The Bible is the truth, and his truth sets us free. It’s his roadmap for us. The Holy Spirit will help you understand his roadmap, but you must start by reading it. I recommend reading the book of John or any of the four accounts of Jesus’ time on earth: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. It is the story of Jesus coming into the world so you can better understand him and why he came.

When you believe in Jesus and decide to follow him, he gives you a helper, comforter, and advocate. He is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit helped Jesus as he walked this earth. He wants to help you. He will lead and guide you into all truth so that you can have peace in God and live the life God created you to live. He has good plans for you.

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Jeremiah 29:11
