Interpret Your Dreams

Recently, the Lord told me that I could interpret dreams and told me to start practicing. Once the Lord spoke, I could interpret dreams; I believed what he said about me and approached interpreting dreams through faith, not doubting myself. From there, interpretation started to increase.

The Holy Spirit told me to write a blog to help others interpret their dreams. I will be using Mark Virkler and Charity Virkler Kayembe’s free resources on Hearing God Through Your Dreams for the basis of dream interpretation. I recommend taking their entire course to help you grow in this gift. You can check out their first three videos for free here on their website or by downloading their Dream Keys free app.

The free resources from that course and the personal revelation the Lord has given me will be discussed to help you start interpreting your dreams.

It’s incredible how partnering with the Holy Spirit in dream interpretation can be such a gift. It’s like going on an adventure with him and searching for a treasure. God is wonderful, and he wants to take each of us on a journey that’s tailor-made just for us. He wants to help us understand the meaning behind our dreams. By interpreting our dreams, we can deepen our relationship with him and experience his goodness in new ways.

There are a few keys I will be using from Hearing God Through Your Dreams. One key is to look at the symbols of the dream and ask yourself what they mean to you. Symbols can mean different things to different people. It would be best if you answered this question honestly. The second is to look at what is happening in your life currently. To understand why these keys are important, please watch these videos.

Now that you have learned these keys let’s interpret. Here is the dream.

My mom drove me to a pizza restaurant where I would start working. I wanted to check my schedule to see when I would start. I had a coupon for a free pizza and brought it in for the staff to enjoy. I went through the back door, and everyone was busy working. I said, “Here, I brought pizza; I know it’s not much for everyone, but I wanted to bring it.” The manager said ‘you didn’t have to do that,” and seemed relieved. He and the employees went to take a break from their work and eat the pizza. He looked tired and relieved to take a break. I told the owner three times, “I start at 5:30 pm, right?” He confirmed with a nod. I thought I started that night, but it was next week at 5:30. I thought, “Oh nice, I have time to rest before I start working.” After seeing my schedule, I put something away in the walk-in cooler and then walked out the back door to leave. Walking out of the restaurant, I saw my mom pick up an empty 5-gallon oil container (the kind they typically use in restaurants as they go through so much oil). It looked like it blew into the parking lot, and my mom picked it up and threw it away. She was smoking a cigarette while she did this (she doesn’t smoke in real life). I thought to myself, they will probably think she is cooler than me, and here I am, being punctual, studious, and kind.

I woke up from the dream thinking, “That was weird. Why would I bring free pizza to a pizza place when they can have as much pizza as they want?”. I realized later this was an essential question for interpreting the dream.

Let’s look at the symbols. I had to sit down and honestly ask myself what the symbol of pizza meant to me.

Pizza: enjoyment, relaxation, rest, fellowship. It means these things because I enjoy eating pizza; it’s usually centered around a movie with family or eating out, and it’s resting from cooking and cleaning up.

Once I got what pizza meant and why I brought it to the staff, I understood the rest. I have noticed some symbols really confound me, but once I get the interpretation, it unravels the rest of the dream. The meaning often comes through being honest with myself about what the symbol MEANS TO ME.

Why am I bringing pizza to people who make pizza all day? What did the pizza do in the dream? They stopped working, rested from working, and ate.

The boss and employees are fellow believers. The boss represents the leader of the group of believers I met with and had fellowship with the previous day.

I was bringing them rest from their works. Why pizza, though? I could have brought them any food that would have caused them to stop working and eat. Wouldn’t they be sick of pizza? The problem is Christians often get stuck in working for their salvation and forget about God’s grace that makes us righteous through the blood of Jesus so we no longer have to rely on our works to earn us salvation. We access salvation in Jesus, not through works that any man can boast.

They were surrounded by grace (pizza) but were not accessing it. They were too busy working. I came in and said, “I know it’s not much.” One pizza for the whole staff is not much, but it’s what I had to offer. The pizza (Grace) was free. It wasn’t something they had to work for or earn. I just brought it without them asking or expecting it. It wasn’t something I paid for, but it was given to me for free by the pizza owner (Grace), who distributed the coupon. We all have a free one-way ticket of grace Jesus gives us; we must choose to get on board.

Now, let’s get to numbers. Whenever something is repeated three times in the bible, it is significant. If it happens in your dreams, pay attention. I recommend Troy Brewer ministries when you want to understand the biblical meaning behind numbers. He has a reputable ministry that is scripture-based when it comes to understanding the meaning of numbers.

Another way to understand a number in your dream is to look up the address in the bible and see what leaps out at you. The Holy Spirit will mark it for you.

The Lord told me to look up the number 53 on Troy Brewer’s Prophetic Numbers. Sometimes, the Lord has me dismiss the zero. This would make 530 into 53. Troy talks about 53 being the dual nature of God. The divinity of God and the humanity of Man. This confirmed what the Lord showed me earlier that day. Because I have learned about the biblical meaning behind some numbers, the Lord has been able to use it to remind me of his thoughts, similar to how he likes to speak through nature.

Earlier that day, I saw it was 6:06 am on my car dash, and next to it, I read 77 degrees. I was thinking about my dream, and when I looked over, I saw that the Lord confirmed what he showed me. Right away, I thought, “His divine nature completes man.” Jesus completes us. For reference, 6 means the imperfection of man, his flesh. You may be thinking six means the devil. Nope, six doesn’t mean the devil. Six three times represents the antichrist. Three means complete, fullness. Six means flesh. Six, three times is 666. Flesh, or we could say, carnality, sin in its fullness. Otherwise, six means flesh. Seven means complete, whole, perfect, rest. God created the earth in seven days. The Lord will show numbers in triples or doubles when he wants to grab my attention and many times throughout the day. Troy’s video on 53 confirmed the spontaneous thought the Holy Spirit put in my spirit, “His divine nature completing man.” Troy says, “he is intervening in our own humanity.” I needed God’s intervention. He showed me where I was falling into error, a trap for my soul. We all need God’s grace and intervention. He was bringing me back to the firm foundation. The rock that is higher than I, Jesus. If we exalt ourselves above Jesus, we are exalted in our works. We who are imperfect lift ourselves to the one who is perfect. We must go low so he can be lifted up. His grace and strength lift me

, not my works that I could boast but his work in me.

When I thought the Lord had given me all the interpretations of 5:30, the Lord told me to look up the number 15. At first, I didn’t understand what 15 had to do with anything. Then I remembered he told me earlier that morning to post something for this website on a social media platform and schedule it for 8:15 am. Eight means new beginnings, and I felt fifteen was significant, but I didn’t know the meaning of it. I felt the Lord telling me to look up the number 15.

Troy Brewer Prophetic Numbers

Rest from your works! WOW GOD! Again, he said 5×3 is 15. And if you take 53 apart and do math with it, 5×3=15. God speaks in many layers, and there is revelation in each layer. When I saw that, I was blown away. God will catch your breath. He also knew I needed lots of confirmation to help me get free of this binding mindset.

Let’s look at what the scriptures say about resting from our works.

8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day. 9 There remains, then, a Sabbath rest for the people of God. 10 For whoever enters God’s rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from His. 11 Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following the same pattern of disobedience.

12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it pierces even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It judges the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight; everything is uncovered and exposed before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who was tempted in every way that we are, yet was without sin. 16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Hebrews 4:9:16

Thank you, Jesus. Another way to say it is to rest from your striving, Come to Jesus, and receive the grace you need. No one is righteous, not one. The devil condemns us and wants us stuck in condemnation. Jesus did not come into the world to condemn the world but to save the world. We are worthy because he laid down his life for us. Not by our works but by his blood that was shed on our behalf.

This leads to the symbol of my mom picking up an empty oil container from the parking lot and tossing it in the garbage while smoking a cigarette. There is a lot to break down in this scene.

First, another key. Sometimes, people represent an aspect of yourself or something in your dream. If you knew my mom, she is the epitome of grace.

An empty used oil container is sitting in the parking lot. The parking lot represents parked and stagnant.

of a body of water or the atmosphere of a confined space having no current or flow and often having an unpleasant smell as a consequence.

“a stagnant ditch”

showing no activity; dull and sluggish.”a stagnant economy”

Oxford Languages: Stagnant

The oil is empty; it is no longer useful. The container gets thrown away. This scripture rose up in me.

And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. Instead, new wine is poured into new wineskins.”

Mark 2:22

Jesus was referring to the old covenant vs the new covenant. The old container could not fit the new wine that would be poured out. Jesus Blood. It needed a new container. The old container was no longer useful, with Jesus laying down his life as the ultimate sacrifice for sins. The old wine was contained in his laws and precepts; the new wine is contained in us with the washing of his blood and the infilling of his Holy Spirit, who gives us grace to overcome.

Even though my mom in the dream had a bad habit, she realized the old container was useless. The law didn’t give her the strength to overcome, but grace, she represents grace.

This meaning also unravels the reason why my mom drove me to work. Grace drives me towards good works. Not the other way around. My works don’t drive me to grace (salvation). This is why I entered and left through the back door. I had it backward.

Let’s look at the last bit of the dream. I said to myself when I saw my mom smoking, they would probably think she was cooler than me. Once I pondered this and thought back on the previous day, he showed me it was a play on words.

They will think she is cooler, which refers not to popularity but cool, as in hot and cold, as we discussed being hot and cold the previous day. The dream doesn’t show the staff’s judgment of me but my assumptions about their thoughts. This pointed to me feeling judged and condemned which caused me to strive. I then told myself I am being all studious, punctual, and kind. I was making it about what I did. My works. Backwards.

Jesus wants our focus to be on him. When we pursue him, he gives us the keys to overcome. More importantly, I believe he cares about us learning to run to him and build a relationship with him, so he allows us to suffer a little while, as it builds something even greater than perfection. It builds our reliance on him. He spoke this to me recently, and it shocked me. God wants to dismantle the religious thinking that places us in boxes and puts us over into works instead of a relationship.

An important aspect of this dream interpretation is what is happening in your life currently. The day before, I had fellowship with other believers and felt condemned. Talking about hot, cold, and lukewarm made me feel condemned over my struggles. Throughout the day, I felt so weird and upset I rebuked the spirit of depression, and it didn’t leave. I knew at that moment I wasn’t dealing with a spirit, but wasn’t sure what it was. The next morning, the Lord gave me some interpretation of the dream. I went to church, and the pastor said, “The letter of law is crushing, but the spirit gives life.” It wasn’t a spiritual attack but a heart condition. I moved out of God’s grace to overcome and into self-righteous works. Having this backdrop helped me to understand the direction of my dream interpretation. Remembering what happened the day before and writing it down will be important in interpreting your dream. It’s not always the case, but it is often helpful.

I hope this blog helps you interpret your dreams. Please look at the free resources listed, as I did not review all of their keys that may be useful to you. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you dreams. The more I ask, the more dreams I get. It’s not always right away; sometimes, it was a week or two before I received a dream, but once I started interpreting dreams, he was faithful to give me more. Dreams are a gift and are meant to be unwrapped.
