The Wine Press

“You are in a pressing season. Yes, I am pressing the grapes from your yield. I am checking what kind of wine you make. I am adjusting your soil, adding the nutrients and fertilizers you need. As I press you, I hear and see what comes out. I have knowledge of what you need. When I smell the aroma and pour you out, I can see what complexities must be added so you become a beautiful offering like my son.

Some things will get pruned back. It may hurt. Some things may be uprooted and trimmed so the roots are not rotting. Some nutrients will be added. All this extra care makes it seem like you have gone back in progress, but it is only launching you forward to produce a greater and Sweeter harvest in the seasons ahead.

When I press you, I want to see what comes out. Will bitterness and complaining come out, or will praise and trust come out? So the pressing must happen for you, so together we can make adjustments. You must look and see what comes out. When you do this, follow my lead to make the necessary adjustments. Maybe you need to apply forgiveness; perhaps you need to do a work of inner healing or deliverance to get free from those things that cause you to be bitter.

Maybe you need more sweetness, allowing the rain of my presence to fill you with my love. Whatever it is, we will adjust together. With my careful pruning, all of this will cause a much Sweeter harvest and yield more excellent fruits. Submit and trust the pruning process and the pressing process. For I will do the work that causes you to sing sweetly to me.”

“A winepress is a device used to extract juice from crushed grapes during winemaking. There are a number of different styles of presses that are used by wine makers but their overall functionality is the same. Each style of press exerts controlled pressure in order to free the juice from the fruit (most often grapes). The pressure must be controlled, especially with grapes, in order to avoid crushing the seeds and releasing a great deal of undesirable tannins into the wine.”

“Controlled pressure produces better wine. Crushing is not from me; crushing is Satan trying to stop you, crush your seed, and cause bitterness to come out. When you come out of crushing and learn that it is always my will to restore and renew you, you will start to speak as Paul did, knowing that whatever I allow is producing a greater glory in you.”

“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”

2 Corinthians 4:8-9

“You may wonder, ‘Why do I feel squeezed in at all sides?’ I am allowing controlled pressure to produce a fine wine. Even in the pressing, it may be satan squeezing you on all sides, but I am in control of the pressure.”

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

2 Corinthians 4:17-18

A couple of days later, the Lord confirmed what he was speaking to me through a word from Troy Black: “Not every step backward is leading you in the wrong direction.” It encouraged me, and I am sure the ministry of the Holy Spirit in this video will also encourage and minister to you.
